It is my first trip with my dad alone.. well, it was a great experience, I must say..
Day One
The plane journey was surprisingly, good. Okay I slept almost the whole journey la. heh. My dad's thai friends came to fetch us from the airport and we headed to Rayong it was a 2 hours plus drive.. Rayong is the East of Thailand and after checking into the hotel,my dads thai friends brought us for some really nice dinner, seafood, by the beach. The ambience was super nice.. (: then they brought us for ice-cream and I could barely eat! Then in the night, we walked in the night market! (:
Day Two
My dad's Thai friends picked us up early after breakfast to their school, Rayong Wittayakom School. The school is huge and I'm really surprised that it's a rule that everyone must cut short hair!? I sat in ther English class and Music class. Quite interesting... Toured around the school before having lunch at a Jap Restaurent in Laemtong Departmental store. Next, we went to a fruit farm and it's AWESOME! They drove us in a cool vehicle and plucked fruits for us along the way! The fruits were the best ever and there was even a fruit buffet, etc.. cool!
Day Three
We headed to Koh Samet in the morning. Took a long car ride to the ferry dock area and a boat which took 1 hour long to reach the island. The island was not as spectacular as we thought it would be. The beach was kind of short but the water was rather clear.. And our 'hotel' or rather cottage was super cool!!!
We swam and caught crabs.. (: heh fun. Had a night walk along the beach..
Day Four
No breakfast! As the hotel didn't provide any. :p I sat on the swing at the beach for 2 hours plus.. (: I love swings and it was so good to have some time by myself.. We took a speed boat back to the dock. And then a bus to Bangkok.. the journey was 3.5hours. not too bad.. buses are better than planes.(: Took a sky train and taxi and then walked to the hotel.. long journey because of the JAM and the taxi driver didn't know where the hotel was. o.o
Went to Platinum mall to shop and for dinner at a Jap Restaurant!
Day Five
Woke up later as I stayed up to watch horror movies. And thankfully I didn't have any nightmares.. (: Instead, I dreamt of playgrounds.. o.o lol. Went to Pratunum.. to SHOP! hee. :p and to Central world for lunch with Uncle Teo Song and some guy from India.. then we went to Platinum again and shopped till we dropped!!! ate at KFC for dinner!
Day Six
Went to The Grand Royal Palace for sight-seeing. Admission fee was rather expensive though.. as they need more money to maintain the palace which was entirely made up of REAL Gold which did cost a lot to maintain well. It was really hot.. Later, we went to a Gem Factory. And bought mummy a pendant! (: And headed to Chaptuchak market (weekend market). We ate Ajisen! SUPER CHEAP. A total of 3 bucks plus for 2 meals! 0.0 And bought some art stuff and cute stuffies.
Went for a dinner cruise and it was certainly a wonderful experience.. There was Thai/seafood sets served. However, the food wasn't very good.. but at least the experience and ambience that was indeed good. (:
Watched horror movies in the night again (: HAHAH.
Day Seven
Headed to Chiang Mai by plane. Only 1 hour plus journey (: we stayed at The Imperial Maeping Hotel in which everything was so expensive.. :/ Went out to the walking street in the evening. And the street was ENDLESS! There were so many shops! But mainly selling those ethnic stuff.. Interesting experience though (:
Day Eight
Early in the morning, at 7.30am, a van picked us to go to an activity called Jungle Flight It's like a forest activity full of zip-lines and abseiling.. COOL TTM!! The van journey was rather long.. and we joined 5 other Americans on our adventure.. lol. it was a thrilling experience in which we were so high up in the trees! 40m high! Above the canopy of the forest! And I must say, the view was amazing! and the trees were so cool!!! haha. Amazing time. (:
Went back and headed to Care Corner Orphange.
The children came back from school and we played with them. We even got to go to visit a HIV infected boy in the hospital and sat in the pick-up with 2 other orphanage children who were so cute!! >< A boy called Sally and a girl, Bamm. Both HIV positive. And I was shocked when I found out that the girl was 14! She looked like 7! But it is due to her medication.. poor girl..
Played with a group of children: Fon, Pimp, Naah and Som. ctching almost killed me. And they taughht me some other games.. (: It was definitely difficult to communicate with them but it was fun!
Had dinner with Lona (a volunteer in the orphange) and Joanne, a Singaporean teacher who teaches English in a Thai school.
Had worship. Worship was awesome. and I was so touched by how the children worshipped God, with all their hearts.. I really cried.
After that, my dad taught them a bit of mathematics. Simple addition. and played a game. I think it was cool and all the children were so engaged! It was great to see them have fun! (:
Day Nine
the last day. We had breakfast at Pastor Ricky's house, which was in the orphanage too. Pastor Ricky is in-charge of the orphanage..
Then, we went to a school which was right beside the orphanage and many of the orphans go there to study! We joined Lona's class, which was a English class. We sat through a class and my dad took over another class. It was fun and I think my dad's real cool! The class was great too! Made a few friends.. haha. Like Fern and Soita. Real cute. (:
We headed for lunch and then to the airport.. Back to Singapore in a approx 3 hr flight. The plane delayed though..
I'm going to miss Thailand. and especially, the orphans. I really really pray that God will allow their faith to rise and that they will always turn to God no matter what and that they will not give up hope about their illnesses. Be strong kids! I love you all.. (:
thanks daddy for the tri
p. It has been a wonderful experience...
and now, since I know which school I got in. I'm going to have to make decisions now. God, I pray that you give me wisdom..
