We arrived in Okinawa after 2 flights which transitted at Taipei and I must say... the plane journey was BLEH! TOTAL BLEH! I'm never going to sit 2 planes in a row... one after another D: But the weather was so cold and nice once we landed in the airport!
A few of My dad's japanese friends came to fetch us from the airport and brought us to a restaurant where we ate Traditional Okinawan Dinner! It was so delicious and it was cool because it was not something that we could ever find in Singapore or anywhere else! (:
We reached our hotel at around 10pm and we went swimming! (: We stayed in Laguna Hotel!!! Super nice!!! (:
Day Two
Early in the morning, after a super good Jap breakfast, a Japnese family, Mr and Mrs Minoru came to pick us up with the touragent person. We went to Manzo-mo... some really cliffy place which has cool wind and beautiful scenery where I could put my Geography knowledge into great use... (:
Then, we headed to the Pineapple park! :p and then for lunch! We had Yaki-Niku! BBQ meat!!!!! So yummy!
After that, we went to Churaumi Aquarium.. supposedly the largest Aquarium In Japan! Well, it was actually very nice and we got to see dolphin show! (:
And at night, we headed to a Japanese family's house where we home stayed in. The house was huge and it was cold too. haha.
We had some steamboat thing for dinner and yup, we talked with the Jap family and watched TV together! And we slept in their house too...
Day Three
Mr Minoru brought my sister and I to a japanese street market and departmental store... it was a great experience! And we saw so many cool stuff like the Taiko and Sansin!!!!! (:
Then my parents arrived at the house and we had early Traditional New Year meal together!!! It was cool... (: and we also tried on some Okinawan Traditional costumes!
Then, we headed to Daiwa Roynett Hotel and my sis and I shared a hotel room.. And we walked along the streets! It was so beautiful!
Day Four
We headed to Taiwan... We were staying in Taichung and in a hotel called HoneyDew Fashion Hotel. Well, the hotel was.... erm not very nice and it did look a bit creepy... we walked along the streets and bought a lot of stuff as stuff in Taichung was rather cheap!! We also went to Feng Jia Night Market in the evening! BUBBLE TEA ROCKS! (:
Day Five
We went to Sun Moon Lake early in the morning. And we stayed in this hotel called Laurel Villa... It was so nice and RuiJun's family stayed in the same hotel room as us before! HAHA. We went for a boat ride around the island... it was interesting. (: And the scenery was breath-taking.
Day Six
TIRING DAY! We left early in the morning by Taxi to Hualien and it was a whole day journey as HuaLien is really really far away. And actually, the journey there was very dangerous and not many people would dare to go by there... as it was a mountain journey and the roads were narrow and cars went both directions. Yup... we passed many places in Taiwan too and up the mountain we went. IT SNOWED! The temperature was so cold and we were certainly not prepared for snow! In terms of our clothes we wore. :p But SNOWWWWW so we were too happy as it seldom snowed and today was the heaviest ever! And we were on Taiwan TV as the reporter interviewed us! HAHAAH. The journey down the mountan was terrible and we nearly for into accidents many times. the worst was when the whole taxi skidded down and twirled in CIRCLES!!! omg.... Thank God we are all fine... we were praying throughout the journey!! We went to He Huan Shan, and then Tarako Gorge... It was so beautiful!!!! And I saw what a gorge was REAL LIFE and not textbook view! :p yup and we finally reached Hualien in the evening and ate pai gu mian!!! We also saw this procession which was to commemorate taiwan's 100th birthday! There were like fireworks right ABOVE our heads!!!
Day Seven
We headed to Taipei by train and the journey was about 2 hours long. Stopped at SongShan Station. We shopped at Wu Fen Pu Fashion Market, which was right next to out Hotel, Wonstar Hotel. (funny name right LOL)
In the night, we walked to RaoHe Night market and shopped there too!~!
Day Eight
It's DADDY'S BIRTHDAY TODAY!!!
We headed to BeiTou after breakfast. And we went to Sulfer Valley. IT WAS SMELLY! There was HYDROGEN SULFIDE SMELL EVERYWHERE!!! D: then we went to BeiTou Outdoor hotspring! OMG it was SUPER HOT!!! I couldn't take it at first and i even got dizzy after I got out of it. But well, I must say it was a good experience... for the sake of beauty... :p
We ate at Sushi Express for lunch and the food was good and cheaper than in Singapore! I LOVE SUSHI! (:
Then we went to DanShui... an old town. The atmosphere was cool and we managed to catch sunset and tried some cool food.
then we went to Shilin Night Market! And took a train back.
Day Nine
Went to MaoKong Gondola early in the morning at Taipei Zoo MRT station. Scenic view as we sat on the crystal Gondola with a transparent base!
After that, we went to XiMenDing. And ate Ah-Tzung Mee Sua!!!
Next, we headed to a school at XinYi Road. It is called Affiliated Senior High school of Taipei Normal University. We made a few friends! Haha they are super cute! Lily, Rosalyn, ViVi and Jenny! >< HAHAH. They are from the English gifted class (; we went to taipei 101 for dinner! Dinner was great! (; Day Ten
We spent the whole day at the Flora Expo! It was quite nicely done up! (:
And in the night, we went back to Wu Fen Pu to shop! LOL
Day Eleven
We woke up super late LOL. Went to XinYi commercial Area. Went to eslite bookshop which is a super huge one :p and had lunch there!
Reached the airport at 2 plus pm and flew back. The plane journey was better than expected for me! Praise the Lord!
In all, the trip was quite a good one! (: thanks daddy for planning! (:
