My GROUP is GROUP A. haha. And it consists mainly of my ADULT home cell groupie. and its AWESOMENESS! We went to Batam in a FERRY. and then took a BUS to Batam Central something, its some shopping mall where we ate our lunch and shopped for 10 minutes -_- I BOUGHT A COOL PURPLE TOWEL! and the funniest thing is that in Batam, you buy towels by WEIGHT! like $1 for 100g. OMGG.... (a shocking piece of news) :O And then, we headed to Batam Holiday Inn (: I shared a roomie with my sister. SHE IS A KICKER. (when sleeping) gahdie. I got kicked quite a couple of times.
In all the messages and sermons were good. and haha very literary, which was actually really cool, hahahah, and the funny puns Pastor Edmund Chan used. WAS TOTALLY COOL and FUNNY. The youths occupied the first row of the hall. and OH! Worship was just ground-shaking!
The highlight of the camp (to me) was DAY THREE. Day Three was a very busy but yeah cool day though (: FIRST, the youth band played for WORSHIP!!! Joanne, Jonathan, Tian Yi and I were in the band, and it truly was a fantastic experience for many of us (except Jo-- I think), as we had never played for main service before. (:
After that was MISSION. A number of us headed to a rural village (in Batam) to render our services. I sat in the bus with my sister, Joanne and Tiara, and PEOPLE. The children were ADORABLE. SO ADORABLE. We played games with them and taught them songs, provided them with food and water and balloon sculpturing. I LOVE THE CHILDREN, actually I really wished I could stay a little longer. I learnt a few lessons from my trip there: 1. DON'T WASTE FOOD. I saw a little girl drop a cut apple on the mud but she put it back into her mouth! I mean you know if it was me I would totally throw it away! But that's not the point, the main point is that these children do not have enough food, so they grab whatever food and treasure it. 2. BE THANKFUL. for good living conditions, sufficient food, etc. 3. Balloons are not that scary after all. I kind of overcomed my fear of balloons A LITTLE. :D
BBQ DINNER followed after. hmmm, I must say the food wasn't hee, too good. but oh well, I DIDN'T WASTE FOOD. After eating, Jessica, sissy and I went to Hilary, JieEn jelly and Pearlyn's room to chat and have funn. and all of us became 孔子sss after my influence. HAHAHA. It was real silly. (haha, bet you don't know what I'm talking about but ITS OKAY).
after that was FINALE NIGHT. There were a series of activities and performances, like Ben's Bollywood dance, The children's performance, Magic show, Video, and Mass dance. I couldn't watch most of the performances as I was rehersing for the mass dance. Yes, Jackson, Clara, sissy and I were in mass dance teamy! It was cool to teach people dance and to SEE people dance. (: haha FUNN! Great experience though. (:
Next, was a talk by Pastor Edmund Chan addressed to the youths and young adults. followed by Worship. I was REALLY TIRED.
Next day... after message and lunch. We headed HOME. H-S-H (home-sweet-home)
Through this camp, I realised that my foundation in God is like the foolish man who built his house on the sand. I realised that my faith in Him is not strong. I realised that I do doubt Him, etc. It's like now I know my problems, but I don't know how to solve them. Like, I don't know HOW to rely on God more and not my own understandings, I don't know how to place my total trust in Him. I am going to search for the answers.
Now I'm BACK to LIfe's reality. Hols are ending and school's starting soon in a week's time. I'm seriously dreading it and I've never dreaded it so badly before. Sometimes, I feel that I don't want to take Olevels anymore.
I'm aching all over!!! Jie EN!!!!!!!!! Thanks ahhh!!!! You poke me until I have bruises on my waist!!!!!! I didn't know you were so violent.
