MEP Camp day one
Date : Thursday, June 4, 2009
The day camp started at 8am at Tanjong Katong Girls' School. And it ended at around 3pm. It was overall, quite fun and enriching... :) I came slighy late as I woke up LATE!!! :x Yep, and so I reached at around 8.10am or so... We gathered at the hall. I was in Group 2. May was in grp 3.... Wei Tian in grp 4. Amanda and Lynette in grp 1, and so on... Genevieve, Genith, Huai Tian, Chloe and Sandy were the ones from the same school as me in the same group... There were also students from other schools like, Raffles Girls', Raffles Instituition, Tanjong Katong Girls' (of course), MGS, Dunman High, ACSI. There were also a few facilitators attached to each of the groups. The whole camp was all about a musical known as Oklahoma. This includes dancing, drama, and Singing. So, all of the groups rotated and went to the four different courses: Dance, Drama, Choir and a class of Introduction the Oklahoma. It was FUN! For my group, we had DANCE first!!! YAY! AND, I was looking forward to that the most out of everything!!! :) Yes, the dance was AWESOME! It was so FUN! We did some cowboy - farm girl dance, which is totally related to the musical that we were working on. I was in the first ROW... :( It was scary... hehe. :x But, as I said earlier, it was still very, very fun! :) The teacher, Ms Judy, was nice. I LOVE DANCE! Then, after learning around 2 long dance moves, we went to the canteen for tea break! Mufifns were served and I took the last chocolate chip muffin :x Soon after tea break, my group headed to the Audio Visual theatre for the introductory lesson to the musical. It was not bad too... but of course not as fun as Dance! :p Then, after this, we headed t the Vivaldi room, on the same level, for drama lesson. It was also okay... but to me, drama was the most boring... hehe. :x LUNCH was right after the drama course! Lunch was quite okay... we were given rice, curry and vegetables. Lastly, after lunch was voice lesson. GUESS WHAT?! I'm under Soprano!!! So weird?! I've never sung Soprano before! Hahax, but anyway it was okay and still manageable for me... We had to memorise the whole song section of act 2 of that musical!!! It's going to be quite tough... :( But, I feel that voice lesson was the 2nd most fun of all the courses! :) At 2.45pm, we gathered together in the dance studio for a debrief and headed home. :) my dad fetched me home... :)
Tomorrow os our performance and last day of rehersal!!! I can't wait for the dance part again! NEW MOVES! YAY!!! :) Hehe... yep, but I'm starting to kind of feel a little nervous for the performance of Oklahoma in my group TOMORROW! Jiayou to my group... hehehehehe... :)
