I just came home not too long ago from my sec 3 camp! :) The camp was FUN... although I was like not at all enthu throughout the camp... :p tee hee... :p
6 May: My class was split into 2 groups: Rome and Helsinky... I was in Rome... and all index no 20 to 37 are in Rome... the rest from 1 to 19 are in Helsinky... YAY! So that meant that I was grouped with Jolynn, Lydia and Jolene!!! :) YAY YAY! Then the facilitators came to take our attendance in the school forum. Rome's facilitator was Jeremy and Helsinky's was Cynthia. Yes, so I had Jeremy as my instructor. Soon, the buses arrived and we left for the camp after our temperature taking... The bus journey to Jalan Bahtera was very very very long... and bumpy... :p
Finally we reached and had to assemble at the multi-purpose hall... After some briefing, going to our huts (sleeping areas) , and lunch, washing up the dishes (terrible), the level was further broken down into 3 big groups: Major A, B and C. My class was in Major B with Hope and Loyalty! :) So that day, we did Navy Seals... :) It was quite Fun... and I was shooting water from water bombs and water pistols... :p It was a game, and the aim of the game is to shoot down -- BREAK the 'giant lolipops' made by newspapers by each group. After around 3 rounds, we didn't win... BUT! We had fun, and at least we had integrity... (not like some others...) Then, come the boring talk... opps... :x yes, it was a talk by one of our teachers, about leadership thing... It was very boring and everyone was so tired... :x then... BATHING!!! I waited quite a while for dirty toilets... but was the 3rd to finish bathing in class... hahahax. :p Yep, then it was dinner. Everyone ate like super fast so as not to have such a huge crowd at the washing up point... Then we did some reflections and followed by preperations for the campfire... (our performance) and SUPPER TIME! We had a big, long scolding by Ms Susan lim and after taking our temperature, and eating very fast... We had to RUN back as it was going to be lights out! SLEEPING... it was hot, very hot... as we slept in huts... and I really pity the 7 girls who are not sleeping in our hut... :( they have to join another class in another hut! Especially Sixuan and Samantha who were sort of 'despised' by the other class... :( According to Jolynn, she said that I fell asleep very quickly (surprising -- cos normally I take many hours!!!) I slept through the whole night (surprising again) hahax.
7 May: Jolynn woke me up. She was like its already 6am!!! We have to be down by 6.45am... let's go brush up now... I was like blur blur... huh? Weng Chen woke Jolynn up and after quite a while, after Shermae and Sharon got scolded by the facilitators for going to brush up sp early in the morning, we realised that it was 5am instead of 6am!!! I was like WHAT?!? And lay back almost falling asleep again... then soon, around 6.15am, Jolynn and I went down to brush up. Breakfast was next and then a briefing... YAY!!! We were doing high elements! There were 4 stations... many were scared... The first station was 2 high element challenges... I didn't go for the 1st station... The activity were the: Log around 4m above ground, and you had to walk across the log without holding anything... (I think this one is the easiest among all the rest though... :)) and the 2nd one is a string same height as the log, and one had to go across the string but there are like 'handles' in a sense that there were strings hanging down 1m apart one another. The 2nd station was also 2 high element challenges... one was dangling wooden planks and tires swinging about in the air around 5m above ground! I was the FIRST to go on that... and according to Jeremy, it was the most challenging one... Seriously, I didn't know how I was that brave... :x I was like standing there and he said okay Heidi you go first... :p I climbed up and had a hard time pulling myself to the small wooden platform. It was very very very hard to take the first step out onto as dangling wooden plank and leave thw small platform... It was like I had to cling on to the string holding the dangling plank and it was moving when I stood on it!!! Then, next was the tire, sitting on the dangling tire was fun actually but the more I hold on to the strings, the more my palm and fingers hurt... they were like super red. It was very hard to get onto the next wooden plank from the tire as I was spinning and rocking like a pendulum on the dangling tire!!! It was fun but extremely hard! Finally, to the tire and on the small platform on the other side... PHEW! I climbed down... relieved. The 2nd high elemnet activity was a shaky wooden plank 5m above ground... one has to walk across the shaky plank held up by 4 strings. The next station was the high wall, yes, rock climbing. 3 people climbed to the top! :) YAY!!! I didn't do this activity, but JOLYNN did this one! May climbed quite high hahax, well done MAY. And well done SI XUAN, HUI YI and JOEY TOK, for climbing all the way to the top! :) Lat was the low wall, it was also rock climbing, but the lower version. I didnt do this activity too... :p
Then, it was lunch. My class was on duty for lunch and I was serving food! :) The mask was so hot... :( After lunch, we did some reflections on our camp booklet and then proceeded on to do T.E.A.M Challenge. The activities included Magic carpet, in which your group has to step on the carpet and flip it pver to the other side without stepping out of the carpet. Hahax... Yun wen piggy backed me... :p Also, tipee shuffle, in which everyone had to stand on benches and move around on them in the order that our facilitator wants, eg: b'day, index no, shoe size, etc... The last 2 rounds were hard as we were not allowed to talk! :x The last one was Tangle... WHOA... I nearly died here! I was twisted until my arms wer on the verge of breaking... :p Then, it was BATHING! My class was the first to bathe, so we had lots of cubicles to bathe in. :) Then after everyone finished bathing, we practise again for our performance later that day during the campfire. Later was dinner. We were a little late though. :x after dinner was our campfire night! :) Everyone was very excited... All our form teachers came to watch the campfire and our performance. Our class was the 2nd to perform! We performed a short skit based on 'little nonya' and the theme song sung byu Qian Yu and Yun Wen. Then was a song-dance, then a dance based on F.I.R (chinese song) and our class cheers. I was so nervous that I forgot many steps... opps! :p Mrs Soh, my form teacher, instructed us to syat nack for a while, and she gave us each a personal note from her to us! She's SO NICE!!! I LOVE MRS SOH! :) :) :) Later was supper and then sleeping time. SLEEPING AGAIN... Yes, again it was very hot, hotter than the previous night! It was as hot as after running 2.4km! AND SWEATING! GRH! I took slghtly longer to fall asleep but I slept through the whole night as I was exhausted... :)
9 May (today): It is the last day of the camp! I am actually quite happy as the weather is so hot and I need my air-con badly... :( hahax. Breakfast was Nasi Lemak and then it was time for area cleaning. I did not need to do as only 8 people needed to. :) So instead, the remaining girls gathered in their own groups and played some group bonding games and so on... :) Then after area cleaning, everyone gathered for a de-brief. We had to do some reflections and also write some notes to people... I wrote to Diana, Jolene and Mrs Soh hahahax... :) Then, we depared from the campsite... :( Our facilitators went back to school with us.... I MISS MY FACILITATORS... THEY ARE ALL SO NICE! Cynthia and Jeremy... :( so sad... anyways, I'm starting to miss camp already... :( When we reached school, we took a class picure with the 2 facilitators and Mrs Soh! :) (on the forum stairs) Later, we were dismissed. I went with Alicia choo to the canteen to have lunch and her dad fetched me home... :) thanks alicia. :)
I MISS CAMP! BUT SOMEHOW I AM GLAD TO BE HOME! :)
